Who should attend THE PREGNANCY & POSTPARTUM COURSE?

Pilates instructors and other allied health professionals who are wanting to work with pregnant and postpartum clientele. Our holistic approach to exercise in the prenatal and postpartum period covers safe and effective progressions and regressions both on the reformer and on the mat.

The course covers all of the considerations for exercise in the pre and postpartum period. Feel confident in your role as a fitness professional, ensuring the safety of mums and mums-to-be during their pregnancy and their return to exercise. This course covers 40+ exercises in detail, outlining the safety considerations for each. You’ll develop skills to assess and refer clients in order to promote the best possible health outcomes for your clients.

Contact Hours: 16 Hours (2 Days Face-to-Face)

The only prerequisite is having completed a Reformer or Matwork Level 1 Course.
The Advanced Reformer Course costs $750. Flexible payment methods are also available.

RESIT FEES: If you need to make up hours due to illness or change of circumstances during the course, it is strongly advised that make-up hours are done as soon as possible after they are missed. This allows students to cover the missed material prior to returning to the course. Please note that this is done in private review at the student’s expense at a cost of $75 per hour. Students have six months to make up any hours missed. If they exceed this timeline, the course is forfeited and the entire course must be retaken in order to examine and certify.

VIVA Education gives all students a 7 day cooling off period, from receipt of their submitted enrolment form. If the applicant decides to take advantage of the cooling off period any course fees paid will be refunded minus a $150 withdrawal fee. After the cooling off period no refunds are allowed on course fees paid unless exceptional circumstances can be substantiated in which any refund will be considered by management on a case-by-case basis.

Exceptional circumstances include debilitating illness, bereavement or tragedy with family. VIVA advises all students to select their course carefully, as we cannot accept responsibility for changes in student’s personal circumstances or work commitments, which may occur before or after the commencement of the course.

COURSE DATE CHANGES: 

  • Changes to course dates are only available 6 weeks prior to a course start date. A flat-rate reschedule fee of $300 applies to all Matwork and Reformer courses.
  • There will be no reimbursements or schedule changes able to be made to courses within 6 weeks of the course start date. Full fees will apply.
  • If you enrol within 6 weeks of the course start please ensure you select your course dates carefully as full fees will apply.

In the event of exceptional circumstances, a refund will be considered by management on a case by case basis. Exceptional circumstances include debilitating illness, bereavement or tragedy with family. VIVA advises all students to select their course carefully, as we cannot accept responsibility for changes in student’s personal circumstances or work commitments, which may occur after the commencement of the course.

Theory Exam: The written exam consists of short theory. It will take you approximately 1 hour to complete the exam. Your results for your theory exam will be emailed to you within 14 days of completing your course.

This allows students to cover the missed material prior to returning to the course. Please note that this is done in private review at the student’s expense. Upon successful completion of the course, students are considered certified instructors from their exam date.

Students must be at least 18 years of age to participate in a VIVA Pilates course and have completed a Reformer or Matwork Level 1 (or equivalent) Course at VIVA or another provider.

Students who choose to appeal their certification score may do so in writing to info@vivapilatesstudios.com.au 30 days of their exam scores being issued. All appeals will be attended to within 60 days of receipt.

Upon completion of Pregnancy & Post Partum students are qualified to instruct classes with pregnant and post partum clients  whilst confidently managing the dynamics of group fitness classes. All skills apply to private, small group, group and one-on-one sessions.
